woot!
it's been a long semester, but it's finally over.
i have 3 finals to take next week, but i think with a little luck, i can slide into home with all A's! it'll be totally awesome! i can't wait.
next semester, i'm headed to georgia state... but it'll be more expensive. unfortunately, i am not well educated enough to be pulling in "ridiculous" amounts of money... i mean, i do okay....but i'm also not cute enough to pull in "ridiculous" amounts of money... reckon i'll have to settle for student loans...
c'est la vie.

you sound like a malfunctioning vibrator...

wow! i am so excited! i have officially registered for classes at georgia state... i'm that much closer to snatching up a degree and running far far away from here! that's not true... i don't know where i'll end up... but truly, i do hope it isn't here. there's no water, and apparently our crime rates are crazy high... suck. it's been so cold the last few nights. silly thing that i am, i forgot and left the window open... the cats are pissed. my poor little babies... cosmo was under the covers purring like a little motor this morning.
the photo above is one that gina and miguel took when the four of us went to the zoo... it was fun. sometime in august, i think...

normally i prefer cohesion in a collection... i don't feel cohesive this week...

the flies are a tribute to the artistic genius of andy warhol... plus i like lots of colors and flies are cute. i did that one about 4 years ago, i think. i love you, nikon!
the rat is dante. unfortunately, he died-upper respiratory, but he was a sweet little guy. he loved shineys!
the iris was from my grandmother's yard...but i like this color better than the orginal. kinda of mustardy. mmm....mustard.
the photo of angel is seriously creepy. i don't remember how i did it, but i could probably refigure it... can't think why i'd need that application though...
and last but not least is the photo of the lizards doing it, which i took in high school with my canon rebel. it was hung on the wall-though the principal protested, my very cool art teacher insisted it remain... i call it "a late aubade".

i couldn't resist... and then i realized i didn't want to...
i am so fucking in love....

with nature valley granola bars. seriously. you can't pry one out of my pudgy little hand. i'm tearing that shit up!
here are some more photos. i was spurred on by brandon's generous praise of the last post, and am shamelessly aspiring (by aspiring, i mean maneuvering, of course...) to receive more.
workity work work work. like 7 trainees this week. must've hit a hiring spurt. i'm so busy.
school is going ok. kinda boring classes this semester... and i ended up with physics. hope it'll help my gpa out, since i don't actually need the class to graduate anymore... that is if i do decide to drop my biology major, which i think i have totally made up my mind to do.
...we'll see...
{ps: these photos are from when bryan & i went to the zoo with our friends, gina & miguel... we got to see the baby panda...}

funky portraiture from 2004 (?)

some photos from when i had too much time on my hands... now i don't have any...
school starts back on tuesday.
the crime rates in knoxville are pretty high.
i'm fairly concerned.
i'm makin' cornbread and these bugs are makin' bacon! wink, wink, nudge, nudge...

i'm making cornbread this morning. last week i made bbq pork, pork roast, a beef roast, and roasted vegetables. neither bryan or i got sick, so i'm reckoning i'm doing alright. also made chicken florentine... but that came out of a bag. took 12 minutes to cook... was pretty tasty, too.
have been looking into apartments in knoxville. trying to plan ahead for the move. found a cute efficiency for 500$ a month.
i can't believe i only have 5-6 semesters left of school. i am SO excited. this semester, i'll be taking physics I and the lab, english II, and sociology. am looking forward to it. am sorry to not be in any bio classes this semester, though, because the natural sciences folks seem to have it so much more together than any of the others. sheesh.

crazy bitch...

well well well....
here we are again.
it's about 12:35 am and hot as hell in the city.
yesterday my car said 104 degrees, and friday it said 110. it's been wicked weather here.
we saw rush hour 3 this weekend with gina, miguel, craig, lisa, and rena... it was funnier than the first two. i was pleasantly suprised in fact.
also, i've done some rearrangements concerning school... might not be a bio major much longer. i've been spending the last 2 days learning the french dirty words. (merde, salope, and the like). i think i have an ingrown toenail. ouch.
some photos.

ruby falls... more disappointing than we were led to believe...

well, this is better late than never, i guess.
above are our photos from ruby falls... a few, anyways. in reference to the comment i made regarding disappointment, the main attraction of the cave is the waterfall. unfortunately, the chamber housing the falls is illuminated in colored lights, making it nigh impossible for a tourist to get a decent photo... of course, if i'd had my video camera, i might've walked away with an acceptable likeness. due to being on a shortish time limit while touring the cave, i was unable to get any good shots of the falls.
it was however, both fortunate and unfortunate that this cave was better lit than the lost sea cave (located in craighead caverns, in sweetwater)...unfortunate in that it lost some of it's authenticity, and fortunate in that it afforded much better snapshots of the formations.
bryan and i just got back from the simpsons movie. we went with our friend gina. gina and i thought it was great, but then matt groening is like unto a god to me... bryan got bored. gina did, however say she felt violated when we were given a money shot of bart's "doodle".

sweetwater caving, ocoee rafting...
back from tennessee...and all in one piece... maybe you're disappointed?
had loads of fun. spent friday driving up there, hanging out with mom and dave. we visited the lost sea, which *used* to be the largest known subterranean body of water. i have since been informed that there is a larger one in africa, but that it is only open to scientific types. a few images from our dirty, damp descent:

overall, we had lots of fun. my one complaint, which i'm sure will be deemed ironic after my review of ruby falls, is that the lighting sucked. the tour was ok, but bryan and i were both pretty disappointed that we weren't allowed to wander through at our own leisure.
it was dave's first time on a boat, and he was suitably impressed, though pretty anxious, i think. he mentioned the boat sinking once, and falling in the water once. everyone made it out ok, though...
saturday, mom and dave attended a barn-raising, and bryan and i went whitewater rafting. it was great. i included some shots that i took at the ocoee welcome center in the cherokee national forest:

i'm going to post the ruby falls photos next time. kinda tired of fooling with it right now, actually...
expect the rest later this week!

endless evenings of nonexist...
finally escaped from work!
i am so sick of working in the rough areas. the store i'm at now is a little slower than the ones i've been at, but it's still southside... that translates to rough.
i still have to clean my car out and finish some laundry, but i'm almost ready to leave town!
the cats are all sitting where their food/water dishes normally are. sasha and jazz are meowing pitifully and poor little cosmo is making that strange trilling noise he makes. i can't feed them tonight, though--they're getting "fixed" tomorrow...
poor little things!
they've been so cute today. i bought them new toys: 2 yarn balls with rattles, a dog w/ catnip in him, a little bird that chirps when you tap it, and a little hedgehog or something that vibrates when you tug its tail... so far the yarn rattles and the birdie are the reigning favorite. cosmo loves the little rattles...
ants in the pants ain't all bad...

this dialog is without worth, content, significance...

crap.
i don't wanna go to work.
i didn't get home until after 2am last night, because i got hung up talking to a coworker. pretty cool guy, too.
but then, when i got home, bryan woke up. turns out he waited up for me until 12am. i felt pretty bad about it since we don't get a lot of time together, and he gets up so early...
but today i feel slightly less guilty due to the fact that i've waited up for him plenty when he's stayed late at work and such. i wonder how the shoe feels on the other foot... doesn't fit too well, i bet...
here's a photo i took of the new kitty. i decided to name her jazz. i think it fits... bryan was leaning more in a different direction, but i think she looks like a jazz... it works.
a friend at work is talking about a paintballing party in a few weeks... i haven't talked to bryan about it yet, but it sounds really fun. i'll have to call gina & miguel to see if they're interested...
this weekend, we'll be away. going to see mom. we're trying to go white water rafting, and to visit the lost sea. i'm sure i'll have photos to post upon my return...
until then, here's another couple of photos:
